Noel Gallagher has recruited Robert Smith of The Cure to remix “Pretty Boy”, a song from the new album by Gallagher and his band High Flying Birds. Listen to the remix below.
About the link, Smith said in a press release: “I was surprised and delighted when Noel asked me to remix this beautiful song, and I had a lot of fun slowing it down and spacing it out – Cure drummer Jason Cooper gave me a great track from vibey drums to play, and the rest just settled under the starry sky of my distant moon…”
Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds to premiere council skies on June 2, via Gallagher’s Sour Mash imprint. Speaking about the album in 2020, he said: “I wrote a tune that sounds a lot like The Cure, and I didn’t even have to re-copyright it, it just sounds like The Cure. It’s called ‘Pretty Boy.’”
Smith, for his part, does not stop announcing the imminent arrival of a new Cure album. Details have not yet been confirmed. In recent years, he has also remixed Chvrches and Deftones.
