On March 20, activists and musicians will join forces at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee for a special Love Rising Tennessee benefit concert. The event, which is presented in association with the Looking Out Foundation, will raise funds on behalf of multiple organizations that serve the LGBTQ+ community. Esteemed artists from across the United States are scheduled to perform, including event co-hosts Jason Isbell and Allison Russell.
Sheryl Crow and Hozier will also share the stage, along with Paramore frontwoman Haley Williams. Other confirmed artists in the lineup include Amanda Shires, Brittany Howard, Brothers Osburne, Jake Wesley Rogers, Joy Oladoken, Julien Baker, Maren Morris, Myra Byrne, The Rainbow Coalition and Yola.
More artists to be announced. See the full current lineup and updates here.
The artists will unite in opposition to the new anti-LGBTQ+ legislation that was passed in the state of Tennessee. According to the official announcement for the event, “Love Rising” will serve as a “celebration of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
In a statement posted on Instagram, guest artist Marin Morris wrote: “Let’s show these politicians who don’t speak for all of Tennessee. Love will prevail.”
Tickets for the event will be available here, starting Wednesday, March 8 at 10am CT. All ticket proceeds will directly benefit The Tennessee Equality Project, Inclusion Tennessee, OUTMemphis, and The Tennessee Pride Chamber. The Looking Out Foundation has committed to doubling all funds raised up to 100k.
