Sbtrkt has announced a new album. the path of ratstheir first full length since 2016 save yourself, will be out on May 5th. In addition to the previously released song “Forward” with Leilah, the album includes the new single “Waiting”, which features Teezo Touchdown. Listen below.
“the path of rats it’s a game about the ‘rat race’ concept,” Sbtrkt said in a statement. “It is based in part on my own challenging experiences within the music industry and life in general, although I realized that the idea is not isolated from a much broader sense of exhaustion, definitely true here in the UK. with little sense of respite from ever-increasing costs, diminishing opportunity, and a bold divide-and-conquer mentality. There’s a juxtaposition on record between determination and hopelessness.”
