The first Something in the Water took place in Virginia Beach in 2019. The City of Virginia Beach recently reached a $3 million settlement with Lynch’s family.
Unlike previous editions, Something in the Water now also has a presenting sponsor, Walmart. “We are excited to partner with Something in the Water, returning to a special place at Walmart, Hampton Roads in Virginia, to help celebrate and empower this community that we are so proud to be a part of,” Cedric Clark, Executive Vice President President of Walmart US store operations, it said in a statement.
