New Order have joined the Primavera Sound 2023 lineup. They will headline this year’s editions in both Barcelona and Madrid, joining a lineup that includes fellow synthpop greats Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys, as well as Kendrick Lamar, Blur , Rosalía and FKA Twigs, among others. New Order will play at the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona on June 1 and at the Ciudad del Rock in Madrid, in the municipality of Arganda del Rey, on June 8.
The announcement comes on the 40th anniversary of “Blue Monday.” In other New Order news, the band and Joy Division are among this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees, who actually don’t suck this year.
