Last night, March 9th, the 7th Annual Love Rocks NYC Benefit Concert took place at the famous Beacon Theater on New York’s Upper West Side. The charity event, which raised proceeds for God’s Love We Deliver, featured an impressive lineup of talent for an evening of music, comedy and goodwill.
During the stacked performance, industry luminaries took the stage and cut in select numbers. Highlights included odes to the departed, with Warren Haynes paying tribute to the late David Crosby in a version of “Almost Cut My Hair,” as well as a collaborative version of “People Get Ready” written by Curtis Mayfield. The aforementioned tune was initially recorded by The Impressions and later released by Jeff Beck on his 1985 LP, Flash. The song was played as the last number of the night and served as a salute to the prominent UK guitarist, who passed away in January 2023. Read more about last night’s concert here.
