Last year’s edition of Lollapalooza featured Metallica, Dua Lipa, J. Cole, Green Day, Doja Cat and more. Metallica’s appearance at the festival marked their viral encounter with Joseph Quinn, aka Strange things metalhead Eddie Munson. The festival was also marked by some controversy: Lil Durk was injured in a fireworks accident, activists protested what they saw as the double standards of the event’s youth curfew, while a security guard was accused of faking a threat of mass shooting.
