Today Dayglo Presents and Elmthree Present shared that they will be bringing The Jerry Dance Party to The Range on the commons in Ithaca, NY on May 7th and 8th. The shows will take place the weekend of the highly anticipated Dead & Company benefit. concert at Cornell University’s Barton Hall. The Jerry Dance Party will take place one day before the main event and the day after Dead & Company’s celebration honoring the historic Grateful Dead show at Barton Hall 46 years ago on May 8, 1977.
As always, The Jerry Dance Party will feature state-of-the-art audio combined with a mind-blowing video and light experience and will be hosted by DJ Jerrbrother. The Jerry Dance Party is known for welcoming guests after shows to celebrate all eras of Garcia’s career, with live cuts from the Grateful Dead, Old & In The Way, the Jerry Garcia Band, Merl Saunders, John Kahn , New Riders of the Purple. Wise and many more.
“We will be bringing Garcia’s entire career to the dance floor over three hours of the most psychedelic and heartbreaking live tracks,” said DJ JerrBrother. “Without a doubt, at every Jerry Dance Party, people come up to me and ask, ‘What show was that from?’ ‘What year is this song from?’ I’ve combed through hours of Garcia’s tracks live to find the best of the best. We left people with a renewed sense of exploration and love for the guy who brought it in every night, Garcia.”
The first celebration (May 7) at the Range will kick off at 8:00pm to get the crowd going, while the second night (May 8) will kick off at 11:00pm following Dead & Company.
