Everything But the Girl, the duo of Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn, have shared their latest new song. “Run a Red Light” arrives today with a new music video directed by Charlie Di Placido. Watch it below.
“I’ve met a lot of characters during my years in the clubs and I wrote this song about the guy at the end of the night, who dreams that his big moment is just around the corner,” Watt said of the song in a statement. “All the bravado and good intentions mask vulnerability.”
“The video is like a dream story,” Thorn said in a statement. “We have found with this record that choreography can express the emotion in our music without having to be too literal. The characters, the clothes, the movement, the direction, everything fits. Charlie and his crew really capture the sentiments we’re looking for. It’s been a great collaboration.”
Fusefollow-up of the group to 1999 MoodyIt comes out on April 21. The group’s new single follows “Caution to the Wind” and “Nothing Left to Lose.”
