The acclaimed boygenius trio have shared plans for a North American summer tour. Between their headlining dates of the Re:Set concert series in June, the band will embark on an independent headlining career. The first show of the upcoming tour has already been announced and will take place on April 13 at the Fox Theater in Pomona, California.
Along the way, Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus will be supported by Carly Rae Jepsen, Broken Social Scene, Bartees Strange, Claud and Illuminati Hotties at select stops. Following the first stop on the tour, the announced group of musicians will take their place at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California on April 15 and 22.
From there, the newly announced appearances will resume in June when the group hits Thrive Park at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, California. A steady stream of Golden State appearances will follow, including a night at Frost Amphitheater in Stanford, California.
After a series of concerts in California, the group will head to Phoenix for a one-off show at the Arizona Financial Theater on June 6. The band will then work the southern region of the US, stopping in Texas, Louisiana and Georgia before a couple of dates in North Carolina scheduled for mid-June.
A June 16 concert at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland will follow boygenius’ North Carolina tour. The band will remain on the East Coast for the next leg of the tour, where they will play New York, Boston and Pittsburgh before their first Great White North appearance, landing June 21 at the Budweiser Stage in Toronto.
Following up on their summer dates, the group will play a couple of shows in Columbus, Ohio and Chicago before hitting Music City on June 25. Boygenius will then take some time off from touring before reconnecting at the end of July on the US West Coast.
On July 28, the tour dates will resume with a concert in Vancouver, BC, taking place the night before the band’s appearance at the esteemed George Amphitheater in Washington. Afterwards, they’ll play shows in Oregon, Montana, Idaho and Utah before closing out their summer run with a highly anticipated performance at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado.
boygenius announced his long-awaited debut album, the record, in January. The new collection of music will arrive on March 31, ahead of the launch of the trio’s summer concert series.
For those interested in attending one of the upcoming shows, a fan pre-sale will begin tomorrow, March 29, at 10am local time, using the code NOTSTRONG. For more information, visit the band’s official website.
